Orate Pro Nobis: Six Hundred Years of Saints, Moretti Fine Art , 2A-6 Ryder Street, London SW1, until 15th November
This exhibition shows religious works from the 15th, 16th and 17th centuries, many showing the Madonna and Child with saints. All have an emotional appeal to the viewer, inspiring contemplative and hopefully spiritual thoughts on the wonders of faith and belief – or not.

In a complementary contrast, well almost, is Gilbert and George’s 1983 work Mouth which is a fusion of the religious and secular. While it is not perhaps as spiritually calming as some of the earlier works, it is certainly as thought provoking.
