This is the American artist, Valerie Snobeck’s first exhibition in the UK and follows on from her recent presentation at the Whitney Biennial.

There are three elements to this intriguing show. The first is a series of peels on the wall that are taken from the 1970s Documerica Project. This project was organised by the then new Environmental Protection Agency to address concerns over the American landscape, both urban and rural, and pollution in all its forms.

The second comprises Depression era glass pitchers, which have been “exploded” by ice expansion and then reformed with the metal armatures joining the pieces together, while the last element is a series of imprinted wooden sticks, both old and new, used in the measurement of fuel and gas levels.
