The Affordable Art Fair Hampstead, Hampstead Heath, London NW3, 12th – 15th June

Guardian by Carola Del Mese. Antique pewter coffee pot, reclaimed metals, gold leaf, taxidermy mouse, nest materials, miniature working chandelier, glass beads. £1,200 at Fourwalls Contemporary
In a rather strange way this fair reveals the difference in taste and collecting in different parts of London and includes galleries that do not exhibit at the Battersea editions. In any case there is a myriad feast to choose from whether it be popular established artists such as Damian Hirst and Anish Kapoor or emerging names like Patrick Thomas and Niggy Dowler.
This time Affordable Art Fair Hampstead is partnering with the Terrence Higgins Trust to raise awareness and funds for the HIV and sexual health charity. On the Charity’s stand will be a ceramic dog by Grayson Perry and it is the prize for a ‘Name the Dog’ competition. There will also be limited edition prints by Anish Kapoor and Howard Hodgkin, with all the proceeds going to the Trust.
I would like to agree with the thoughts of Romy Westwood, the Hampstead Fair director “For me, buying a piece of art because you love it, and not worrying about how much it may increase in value makes it doubly worthwhile.”
