The Blanchard Collective at the Marlborough International Jazz Festival 2014, 18th, 19th and 20th July
You could be lured into thinking that a slice of New Orleans has come to the Wiltshire town of Marlborough over the three days of the 18th, 19th and 20th of July because it is jazz festival time.
The internationally popular Marlborough International Jazz Festival is now in its twenty-ninth year and among its sponsors this year is The Blanchard Collective. The Collective is a group of 18 dealers, based fairly nearby at Froxfield, who offer a wide range of antiques and decorative items which are just perfect for your home whatever its size.
Tempted? Well although they remain open at Froxfield during the Festival, jazz enthusiasts will not have so far to go because Blanchard Collective is bringing a “pop-up” version to Marlborough Town Hall. There will be a series of special room settings offering a mixture of traditional, modern and quirky that I am sure will tempt many to acquire a lasting, enjoyable souvenir as a memory of a great musical weekend.
By the way as well as being a Festival sponsor the Collective is also sponsoring the New Road Bandstand at midday in the High Street on Saturday, July 19 which will feature K V Brass who will be showcasing up-to-date arrangements of classic Jazz, Swing and Latin tunes
Margaret Riordan, Director of the Blanchard Collective, sums it all up saying “‘The Marlborough Jazz Festival is one of the region`s most important events of the summer calendar and, as the Collective is based just down the road from Marlborough, I am delighted that this year we are able to act as one of the sponsors for such an exciting local event.
“As part of the interior design world, we also feel the Blanchard Collective resonates with the Festival in an artistically harmonious way and it will be very stimulating to overlap with other creative people whose world is music.”
