The BADA Antiques & Fine Art Fair, The Duke of York Square, Chelsea, London SW3, 18th – 24th March2015
With its reputation for strictly vetted and authenticated art and antiques one can easily understand why this is one of the premier fairs in London. All ninety-eight exhibitors are members of the prestigious British Antique Dealers’ Association (BADA) and they offer a dazzling array of antique and contemporary pieces from all disciplines. This year’s new exhibitors include Beaux Arts London, Philip Mould & Company, Michael Hughes, Peter Lipitch Ltd. and Ted Few.
One feature seen for the first time at this fair is the British Antique Dealers’ Association Certificates of Provenance which can be included by members with the sale of objects. The Certificates state that the piece has been bought from a BADA member and will be recorded as a part of the items permanent provenance. I am sure it will prove a welcome addition to many collectors.
Art and antiques are a popular and striking element in interior decoration and so this year four celebrated interior designers will each choose three items from the fair and their choice will be highlighted by a showcard given to the dealers concerned. This year the fair has chosen the breast cancer charity The Haven Trust as its beneficiary for the Charity Gala Dinner.
