I am sure there is no need to tell you what a tempting mélange of artistic works in most disciplines awaits you at this Spring edition but I thought a gentle reminder may be welcome.

A hundred plus galleries and work from more than a thousand artists should mean that most visitors whether established or first timers should find something to grace their homes. Not surprisingly given the recent official 90th birthday celebrations for Her Majesty the Queen there will be works with a royal flavour.

The NW3 edition of this perennially popular Fair is upon us and I shall leave it to the Fair’s Director, Romy Westwood to sum up its appeal: “The Hampstead fair, in its beautiful heath surroundings, offers a stylish summer’s day out.”

“Art fairs provide an eclectic mix of genres and artists that you can browse to find the perfect artwork to kick-start or expand your collection. Chatting with the gallerists will help you learn about the art and discover more about the story behind the piece. You’ll also be able to see some up and coming talent and be exposed to styles which you may not have come across or considered previously.”

There is a constant freshness to this fair that brings both aficionados and newcomers through its portals. It provides a wide choice of paintings, sculpture, ceramics, drawings and prints that will complement your lifestyle be it contemporary or traditional. As the fair’s director Luci Noel says “Browse the vast variety of art on offer to discover what resonates with you, art should be an emotional experience – buy what you love and what you want to live with today and every day.”

It hardly seems that it can be fifteen years since the Affordable Art Fair was founded and what a great success it has been with eighteen fairs in fourteen cities, spread across four continents.

Not surprising really given the wide variety of works of art available between £100-£5,000 that it attracts new and established collectors each time, with the added bonus that they can take their purchases away with them on the day.

Will Ramsay, founder of Affordable Art Fair, sums it up saying; “I never believed 15 years ago that 1.6million people would have visited our fairs, buying 200,000 pieces of art around the world. The fair makes it easy to engage with art, to learn; we make art fun! Enjoy yourself and get involved in all we have to offer.”

The Fair once again comes back to where it all started originally – Battersea Park.  This Fair really is quite a phenomenon and has proved a firm, popular destination for buyers each time it’s on.  This is no doubt helped by the £40 to £4,000 range of prices but also by the wide variety of art, in all media, that the 100 plus handpicked galleries bring. One great advantage of the Fair is that you can take your purchases home with you on the day.
