William Lansbury, The Gallery,54 Shepherd Market, LondonW1, 30th June – 12th July 2015
Once again Lansbury gives us an eclectic mix of motor racing posters, photographs and Mid-20th Century British Art. The real drama and excitement of motor racing is avidly brought to life through the posters and the photographs, with the latter coming from the era before crowd control and safety barriers.
He tells me he started dealing when he had the idea of selling his racing car and using the proceeds to start buying and selling artworks with the aim of purchasing a newer racing car. He added “in theory this seemed infallible.”
The Art of Speed, The Gallery, 54 Shepherd Market, London, W1, 22nd December 2013 – 5th January 2014
Some of you may recall the exciting exhibition held at the same time last year and I am delighted to tell you that William Lansbury has returned this year with an eclectic mixture of works, including paintings, posters and photos. The posters are particularly striking with their nostalgic appeal of times past.
